Guess what? You can't get published unless you submit. Peruse this list of upcoming deadlines and pick at least one. Once you've made your submission, leave a comment to let us know, and come back to update us with the outcome. Good luck!
I'll post this weekly, adding new deadlines as we move forward.
Please visit links for submission guidelines and details. Some are just for fiction, some are non-fiction or poetry, some any of the above.

- READ the submission guidelines. Some allow simultaneous submissions, some do not. Some allow work that has been published previously, some do not (and some might consider something you've posted on Newsvine to have been "published.")
- FOLLOW the submission guidelines. Every editor I've ever met has a rule: if a submission violates the guidelines, it gets tossed. It might be a genius piece of writing, but it's going into the recycling bin if the writer didn't follow the guidelines.
- PROOFREAD your piece, or have someone else proofread it for you.
- WALLPAPER your workspace wall with your rejection slips.
